Last week, my beauty blogger friend Nancy, did my makeup for a Valentine's Day look. We decided to stick to a pink tone makeup look, because it is fresh, easy to create and compliments most skin tones.

Even if you're not in the mood for celebrating, this look is great for a causal outfit or if you're looking  for makeup ideas for the spring, especially against the pastel color schemes that will be worn this upcoming season. Matte eyeshadows (as used in this look) also add a detail of sophistication, so again, it can be worn for most occasions without bearing an adolescent tone.

Don't forget to apply a facial moisturizer before applying makeup.

First, Nancy applied Smashbox face primer to my face, which closes pores and smoothens the appearance of the skin, creating a great base before applying foundation. Then, she evenly applied  NARS cream foundation in a circular motion. If you apply foundation as brushstrokes, you'll most likely see strokes on your face, which of course is not cute. To contour, which add more dimension to your face, she used BH Cosmetics 10 Color Concealer Palette, to sharpen my cheekbones and highlight my face.

For the eyes, she applied the Urban Decay Primer Potion, which I believe is a beauty must have for all women that wear eyeshadow. By applying this primer you'll avoid your makeup creasing and it will last a lot longer. She dusted a light matte pink eyeshadow on the lid and a darker matte rose color around the crease, both from Tarte Cosmetics. Note: Always apply the lighter shade before the darker shade of eye makeup. She then lined my waterline with NYX white Jumbo liner, which made my eyes appear bigger and enhanced the sweet flirty look. Nancy also added a subtle cat eye just to add more definition to the eye. To finish off the eye look she added false lashes from Elf Cosmetics and of course mascara.

She lined and prepped the lips with Urban Decay Lip Liner in Wicked and topped it off with NYX Cosmetics Black Label Lipstick in Cancun Pink, (my favorite for the spring). She wanted the look to focus on the lips, hence the brighter lip color.

Very soft curls, similar to retro waves will best compliment this look!
